Sponge Bath!

Grandma Sue came to help me with Sadie for a couple weeks.  She got there just in time for the birth.  It has been so nice to have a loving grandma that can take over when Ryan and I need some sleep.
The day after we came home from the hospital we gave Sadie her first at-home sponge bath!  She loved it.  I was surprised that she didn't cry when we put her little head under the water; in fact, she seemed to really like the water.
She loved getting her head scrubbed with the brush.  She didn't like getting her body washed as much as her head, but it was probably cold since she can't sit in the water yet.  I think she will like taking a real bath even better!
Sadie smelled so good after her bath!  A nice bath and some food and she was out.  She's just adorable!

Coming Home From the Hospital

The next afternoon we were ready to go home from the hospital.  Ryan dressed her in her baby scrubs to go home, but they were a little too big!  The nurses and doctors at the hospital loved her pink little scrubs.

We had to put mittens on her hands because her nails were already long and she was scratching her face:(

Sadie and me getting a ride to the car.  Luckily we had put the car sear in the
day before we went to the hospital.

Welcome Baby Sadie!

Sadie Ryan Miller was born August 19, 2008, at 12:16 p.m.  She weighed 6 pounds and was 18.75 inches long.  We were a little shocked to see her so soon because she wasn't due to arrive until September 3rd.  Mommy didn't complain!

Sadie and Daddy were best buds the moment they met. I was very grateful for Ryan throughout the labor and delivery process because he gave me an epidural that worked great!!!

After they cleaned her up a bit I got to hold her again.  She was so content and looked very calm; especially considering what the two of us had just been through!  She looked a lot better than me to say the least...

She didn't sleep very much the first night...and neither did we.  The nurses offered to take her to the nursery, but I didn't want her to leave.  By 5:00 a.m. both Ryan and I were ready for her to go to the nursery for a little while so we could get some sleep.
